“ Right is right, even if everyone is against it; and wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it.”
By: William Penn

This quote by William Penn is seen everywhere and sadly it is not always followed. I have always liked to do things my own way so I actually picture this quote in my life. A lot of people like to try to fit in and that is not always the best thing. There could be people who are doing the wrong thing and just because you want to fit in you go and do what they’re doing as well. This happens all the time with friends and peer pressure. For example, all of your friends are going to a party where there is going to be alcohol and people are going to be smoking. You are all underage and you know you shouldn’t go but you go anyways because all your friends are going. You might not think much of it because if you get in trouble you are going to get in trouble with your friends. So there you go doing the wrong because all of your friends are doing so. An example of the first one would also be the party one. If you know you have to study for a big test tomorrow and your friends are all going to that crazy party you think of staying because you know it is a bad idea to party on a school night. All your friends chose the wrong and you stood up for what was right, even though you were the only one. Those are two relevant examples that actually occur and people either follow or stand up  for what they know was right. Being the person that doesn’t follow everyone else when they are wrong may seem to be like a party pooper. You might even be made fun of. The real thing here is that not everyone is right and knowing that you are better off. So to finish off this sss i’d like to say that you shouldn’t be afraid to be different from everyone else who thinks they might be right.

“Don’t sacrifice what you want more for what you want now. Write down what you want most and see it often.”
By Peter Vidmar
This quote is incredibly eye opening. I mean I could actually relate to this quote. I believe that what you want in the future is more important than what you want right now because of this quote. This is my new motto because of how true it is. The second part of the quote says to write down your goal and visit it frequently. That means to visualize it; to always keep in mind your goal. If you stop and do whatever you want to because it is easier than your ultimate goal you are never going to accomplish anything. This is because everything will seem easier than your goal. You have to take chances and sacrifice what you want to do for what you want to do in the future. An example of this would be if you want to get straight A’s. To do so you need to study hard and do your class and homework daily. Instead your conscience is telling you to be on your phone. You decide to hold up studying for you phone and you get a bad grade on the test. That bad grade will then affect your overall grade for the class and then that grade will mess up your GPA. Next time you decide to make studying a goal of yours and you write it down so you know get an A.
Homecoming
Homecoming is an annual festivity that is celebrated to welcome back alumni and former residents. Homecoming originated back in the 19th century. During 1911 Kansas vs. Missouri claimed to be the first homecoming game. Baylor, Illinois, and Missouri claimed to have planned their first homecoming celebration in 1910. This festivity quickly became popular during the 1920s. From then on it has become a tradition. Some of the events and activities that take place during homecoming are football games, rallies, parades, speeches, and most popular the dance. It is called homecoming game because the alumni, community , and former residents come back to their university or college. Technically, it’s like they are coming “home” hence the name homecoming. The school may or may not be along with mums. Mums is another name for a corsage.  For girls their dresses are to be semi-formal. A cocktail dress is fine and most commonly worn. Guys are to wear a suit and tie. The use of long dresses and tuxedos are not necessary unless the dress code is formal.

My thoughts  of homecoming are very whimsical. I think of it as a way to show school spirit. The thought that comes to mind is the football game. A game is usually the most spirit packed thin of the whole night. I am very excited to write that i am going to homecoming this year of 2016!

“ A good name is better than anything you can achieve in this life”
By: Coach K

A good name can open a lot of doors a bad name can not. Money isn’t anything compared to a good name because a good name is something people think of you and people’s opinions can’t be bought. People will think what they want and no one can change that. Usually we do things that we don’t think will affect us in the long run but the truth is it really does. An example would be if they caught you doing the wrong thing and had drugs in your possession. If the cops catch you and fill up a report that say you are a drug dealer you have earned a bad name and sure that might had made you a lot of money. That money might have got you meany lavish things, but that is nothing because now people won’t want to hire you if you need a job. They will prefer to hire someone with a clean record and a good name. Like the quote states, a good name is better than anything you can achieve in life because you will have ample opportunities. A good name is something you can’t fix because if you are a bad person, people will never think you the same way. Even if they do they will say,” Oh yeah but he was a bad person.” A good name is an achievement itself and it might be the best one you will ever accomplish. That is because it’s one that will last you your whole life.

“ A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches.”
Proverbs 22:1
A good name is always more important than money because your name is your reputation. When people hear your name you want them to remember you for something good. This is because when people think of you you want them to have a good image because they might recommend you for something good. It may be a better job or for a college. That will eventually make you a person with a rich character. Then people will remember what a good person you were all by your name because you were a CTR person. A person with a bad name is a person with a bad reputation. When that person’s name is brought up will be a bad memory. That will make others think bad of you making you a poor person. This is because you have a poor character. An example of this would be Jesus Christ. He was a good person because he chose to die for everyone’s sins. He gained fame and a good name by being a good person. Now whenever someone mentions his name we think of what a good person he was.
