“Manners maketh man.”
By: William Wykeham

I feel he stole the words right out of my mouth because I know I have said something related to this.As a child my parents’ priority was to teach my siblings and I great manners. We were taught to use root morals like please and thank you. We were taught to be kind to everyone even those who do us wrong, but if they cross the line then they had it coming to them because we were also taught not to let ourselves. I think it was lessons such as these that make me who I am. I mean growing up I was shown no manners from my brothers. They would make fun of me and how I would react. They just played the roles of older siblings. This really affected me because I’m, somewhat, the same with my younger sister. I like to play with her in a way others would think rude but those were the manners I was shown when I was younger so those are the manners I will reciprocate to my younger sister. An example of the quote is when you talk to someone. If the person is rude it probably means they were not taught respect and that is why they are disrespectful. It would make the person look bad and then people wouldn’t want to hang around with someone that has no manners because then they will make you look bad. If you talk to someone and they say things such as please and thank you, they not only look idyll but sound so too. That’s why I see this statement by William as a quote id say myself without the “maketh” part. I would say make people and the I would change man to people is because, I feel, like it would sound better.
