“ Right is right, even if everyone is against it; and wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it.”
By: William Penn
This quote by William Penn is seen everywhere and sadly it is not always followed. I have always liked to do things my own way so I actually picture this quote in my life. A lot of people like to try to fit in and that is not always the best thing. There could be people who are doing the wrong thing and just because you want to fit in you go and do what they’re doing as well. This happens all the time with friends and peer pressure. For example, all of your friends are going to a party where there is going to be alcohol and people are going to be smoking. You are all underage and you know you shouldn’t go but you go anyways because all your friends are going. You might not think much of it because if you get in trouble you are going to get in trouble with your friends. So there you go doing the wrong because all of your friends are doing so. An example of the first one would also be the party one. If you know you have to study for a big test tomorrow and your friends are all going to that crazy party you think of staying because you know it is a bad idea to party on a school night. All your friends chose the wrong and you stood up for what was right, even though you were the only one. Those are two relevant examples that actually occur and people either follow or stand up for what they know was right. Being the person that doesn’t follow everyone else when they are wrong may seem to be like a party pooper. You might even be made fun of. The real thing here is that not everyone is right and knowing that you are better off. So to finish off this sss i’d like to say that you shouldn’t be afraid to be different from everyone else who thinks they might be right.
