Social Worker
Duties and Responsibilities
Social worker help their patients solve and cope with their problems. They will identify people in communities to see if they need help. If that person does need that help then the social worker will determine their needs and solutions based on their situation. A social worker will also deal with child abuse, mental health emergencies, problems with illnesses. A social worker will also find a program that best fits their client. After the patient has shown to be better they will still assist the patient if the issues return. With that said, the social worker will keep checking up on the patient to make sure that he/ she is really doing okay. There are also clinical-social workers who deal with the patient’s emotions. The clinic social worker will diagnose and treat these behavioral issues as well.
Salary: A social worker will make $45,900 a year.
Education: To become a social worker you need at least a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or sociology. Some actually are required to get a masters but that will only take 2 additional years to obtain. Although, there are some programs that will allow you to get your masters in only 1 year.
Demand for this profession: There will be a 12% increase in the years 2014 through 2024.
Reflection: I would like to be this in the future because i’m really good with people. I’ve been told that i'm also very good with children. It’s just something i really want to look into being in the future.
