Plastic Surgeon
Duties and Responsibilities
A  plastic surgeon will work to enhance the body or reconstruct. A plastic surgeon will do a reconstructive surgery when the patient has been through an injury, or disease that causes the body to change its appearance. The plastic surgeon will correct the appearance of the body or sometimes the bodily function. Along with reconstructive surgeries they also fix the formation of the feet and hands. A plastic surgeon will also work on the face. Plastic surgeons will also enhance the body for aesthetic reasons. A plastic surgeon will work in a hospital while others will hold offices in outpatient clinics. Some work in academic or community hospitals. Lastly, you could also work privately doing private practices.
Salary: A plastic surgeon makes $260,232 a year.
Education: To become a plastic surgeon you will need to earn a doctor of medicine or a doctor of Osteopathic of medicine.  You will need to be in a  four year medical program where you’ll do laboratory work and get an education for two years. The other two will be spent getting  clinical experience. You will have to do 5-6 years of medical residency training. Three will be spent for training and the last 2-3 will be spent in plastic surgery.  
Demand for the profession: It is estimated that between the years 2014-2024 the plastic surgeon profession will grow by 14%.
Reflection: I would love to be a plastic surgeon. The reason is because I find it so interesting when they cut open the skin and you see the fat. It’s also seems like a lot of school but honestly the salary is worth it.
