LPN
( Licensed Practical Nurse)
Duties and Responsibilities: LPNs work under the supervision of registered nurses and doctors. They provide the basic care for patients. These basic cares include monitoring a patient’s health, changing bandages, bathing, dressing and checking their blood pressure. They also listen to the patient’s concerns and keep recorder of the patient’s health. Some LPNs also help deliver babies as well as feed, change, and bathe them.
Salary: An LPN will make $43,170 annually.
Education: In order to become an LPN you need to complete an approved educational program. Most complete it in one year but some can take longer. For the most part these programs can be found in technical schools and community colleges.
Demand or need for this profession: The job outlook is increasing by 16% which is much faster than usual.
Reflection: I wouldn’t like to do this because it seems to me to be too basic. If I were to become a nurse I’d be a registered nurse but that too doesn’t interest me.
