“ You can’t be right by doing wrong; you can’t be right by doing wrong.”
BY: Thomas S. Monson
This statement by Thomas S. Monson lets us know that we should always choose that right. We, teenagers, usually think that because everyone else is doing something it make sit right and it’s not. This statement by Thomas Monson reminds me of this other famous statement. Just because everyone is doing something, it doesn’t make it okay. This is a statement that most adults agree with but the ones that least pay attention to it are teens. Teenagers want to have fun and live life to the fullest neglecting that there are things that can happen when you choose the wrong. An example of this is when you want to go to a party and your mom had said no. Your mom said that you can only go if your neighbor was  going. You choose to lie that your neighbor is going because you really want to go. Your mom believes you because it is not often that you lie. You also think that it’s okay because your neighbor was a little older than you were and they wouldn’t enjoy the party anyways. As of now you are thinking that you did the right thing by lying because you have a reason. Just because you have a reason to do something doesn’t make it right. At the end of the party you get home and your mom is waiting for you. It is then that you realize that it was wrong to have lied even though you thought it was right. From now on I’m going to take this statement by Thomas S. Monson when it comes to situations where I think that something is good even though it’s not. I usually do tell fibs once in a while to my parents but know that I reflect on it it’s not very obedient of me.

“ Enthusiasm makes the difference.”
By: Dr. Norman Vincent Peale
I think that being enthusiastic can not only take you a long way in life but also how you feel inside. This enthusiasm or there lack of determines if you’re successful or not. If you have fun while doing something chances are that you’ll get it done fast and right. If you are bored and think the task is pointless then you’ll take forever doing it, if you get it done. For example, i spent a whole block complaining over a project and at the end of that block I had accomplished very little. I then thought to myself that if I would of had a better attitude, a bit of enthusiasm, I would have possibly finished it. It was all a waste of time. I wasted a whole block being querulous rather than being enthusiastic and getting work done. Another example is at my internship. I am naturally an Affable person and what I do is talk to people to get them to vote for council members. I have to interact with the people who I am calling. I am there for a good amount of my day and I’ve noticed that if I’m actually into what i’m doing I’ll work faster and more effectively. I also notice that I have better conversations with some people. It also makes the internship less tedious. To cut it I guess that I can say that being enthusiastic about something really does make the difference. I have also lived by this since freshman year. I have complained about assignments but overall it has really allowed me to enjoy school more than if i wasn’t a Tigger.

Medical Illustrator
Duties and Responsibilities: A medical illustrator is just that. Medical illustrators are professional artist who are trained in the medical field. They have an advanced education in medicine, science, art, design, digital technology and communication. That is why they fall under the title of a bio communicator as well. Medical illustrators work alongside scientists, physicians, and other specialists to make it easier for people to comprehend difficult medical procedures and topics. They do this for technical information to support education, patient care, patient education, and to ure for marketing.
Salary: The average that a medical illustrator gets paid is $62,000 a year.
Education: Most medical illustrators will have a masters from an accredited graduate program. There are only three in the U.S. and they accept less than 20 students a year. They receive education in  gross anatomy, pathology, physiology, histology, neuroanatomy, embryology, and surgery. Most graduate programs in medical illustrating are only two years but it depends on the program.
Demand or Need for this profession: The demand for a medical illustrator is greater than that of a scientific illustrator and an art director.

Reflection: It sounds interesting and I’m definitely intrigued. I didn’t know that all you needed was an associates degree, but know that I do it makes it even better.

“I wasn’t trying to leave a legacy. I was trying to do what was right.”
By: Dean Smith

File:DeanSmithcropped2.jpg Dean Smith is an all-star in the basketball world. He has won 879 games and still remained humble. To add to his greatness 96% of his players graduated. All throughout his career he never desired to be considered a legend much less leave a legacy. In the statement he goes on to say that he was only trying to do what was right. I know now how important and beneficial it is to be a good person. If you do what is right and good there should be no other outcomes besides greatness. Leaving behind such an eye-opening statement it has given me a better reason as to why I should continue to be a good person and make sure to choose the right. I don’t plan to leave a legacy behind but if it just so happens, I’m pretty sure it’s going to because of who I was. An example for this is Miley Cyrus. Although she does do things that are not considered “good” in society she does good. She is the founder of a LGBT community that goes under the name The Happy Hippie Foundation. There she allows teens who are going through tough times be heard and make the feel like they matter, because they do. She even released a free album and still managed to sell out all her shows. She is truly a legacy and she doesn’t even try. She made it through her hard work and desire to help people. In my opinion, a legend truly is someone who is humble about it much like Dean
“It’s not about how you achieve your dreams. It’s about how to lead your life. If you lead your life the RIGHT WAY, the karma (good results, destiny, fortune, good luck) will take care of itself. The dreams will come to you.”
BY: Randy Pausch
Randy Pausch emphasizes the importance of being a good person and living life the right way. Many may interpret this in many ways but by good he means by being a good person and making the right decisions. When you choose the right there is nothing that came go wrong because you already chose the right. Doing right will only bring good into your life hence the work karma in the statement. I believe that as children we are taught to be good but as we row up our ambitions get the best of us. This leads to being a bad person because you will choose the wrong in order to obtain what we think is important. In that case what’s important is being successful, living lavish and  accomplishing your dreams. Although those aren’t bad aspirations in life it is never good to accomplish them in a way where you can hurt others or yourself. Like Pausch said it doesn’t matter how you achieve your goals but how you lead your life. It is better to accomplish your dreams and lead a life of good than to life a life of bad and accomplish the same goals. Think of it as a two for the price of one deal, and who doesn’t like to save money. Just in this case living a life of will not only get you money but more friends because you are made of good. The more people like you the more they are going to recommend you for job opportunities that will allow you to accomplish your dreams. I believe GOD is made up of good and will only bring good our ways. It Is up to us which path we want take. If we continue on the path of goodness He will take care of us. In Conclusion, I have heard of Randy Pausch before and his speech was very poignant and it left me thinking of what I would like to pass down before I pass, and that was to be a good person. I am a good person with a strange personality and I’m truly blessed. I am blessed with amazing friends, teachers/mentors, parents, and siblings. The point is I agree with everything he said and because I’ve heard of him before already live according to this statement and overall speech.

“Make Your Passion Your Profession”
I have this faint passion for painting and even though I don’t do it often I know I love doing it. I can grab a paint brush or crayon, marker, whatever, and eveththouh I have no idea what to do I just go with it and the outcomes are not that bad. Like I mentioned earlier I don’t do it often due to school and chores but if it was something that I did for an occupation I would definitely have more time to do it. As well as having more time I will also be able to learn more and better myself. I like painting because It’s a recreational activity and it just lets me really think about life. Even though I know it’s hard for an artist to become known it’s not impossible. I discovered I had a passion for painting freshman year.  I still didn’t do much painting then but I did draw more often than I do now. My sister was always painting and I seemed to have adopted the art of it. It always came easy to be, even if my mind was clear my hands always knew what to do. Some of my most accomplished pieces hand in my room and others I’ve painted over. I tend to draw flowers and abstract things and it kind of allows we to practice precision with the bending of colors as well as the color combinations. You have to know how to shadow using dark shades of the same color. I know a lot but not enough to consider myself a pro and that's why I need to go to school and get an education.   That way I have a backup plan if my stable career doesn’t work out. I hope to further my gift of art later in life after I graduate and get a degree in something that I don’t know yet.

“Of all the work that is done or that can be done for our country, the greatest is that of educating the BODY, the MIND, and all of the above CHARACTER, giving spiritual and moral training to those who in a few years are themselves to decide the destiny of the nation.”
By: Theodore Roosevelt
As we all know, Theodore was our former president and I feel like this quote speaks to me. In exactly four years I’m going to be able to vote. He is telling me that the nation is in my hands. I have to educate my body to remain healthy. If I don’t treat my body right then it is my fault, and my fault only, if I become unhealthy. I also have to educate myself. Not only do I have to be smart but I also have to know what’s going on with the elections. I have to know what is right and what is not. Out of everything in the world knowledge is the only thing that can never be taken away from me. Therefore, I should know as much as I can. Lastly, Roosevelt points out character. We have to educate ourselves to be the best person we can be. We have to be compassionate, wise and all those other good adjectives. An example is what I just mentioned earlier; I have to educate myself. The nation is seriously in the hands of the younger people. Another is when we have a family. It is up to the parents, in this case us, who will guide our children to be the best they can be. We have to make sure to educate them on everything we can to make sure the nation is left in good hands.

“ Take responsibility for YOUR OWN body, mind, and spirit, for your own physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.”
By: MR. C. S. Haymore
Image result for MR. C. S. Haymore Overall, I think this statement means to say that we should take care of ourselves. We need to take responsibility for what we do to ourselves. I think that if we are unhealthy it’s our own fault. If we are depressed it too, is our fault. I know that some people are diagnosed with depression but there should be no reason why we should let sadness control us. That would also be killing our spirit. If we let sadness get to us we become a melancholy person and that is not healthy.  Everything we do has an affect on us and we decide what we do so it’s really our fault. If we want to be happy then we need to do things that make us feel happy. If we do things that make us sad then we shout keep from doing those things. Like Mr. Haymore said, we need to take responsibility for our own bodies. If we don’t take care of ourselves then who is? We are the only people who can harm us. With that said, I find it fitting to say that if we choose the right there should be no reason as to why we are sad or unhealthy. An example would be an unhealthy person. That person has chosen to eat an abundant amount of junk food and has avoided any form of exercise. That person has taken responsibility for what they have done to their body. They have also decide to do something about it and exercise as well as eating the right food. That person is now physically healthy and it all had to do with himself. It all has to do with motivation and self acceptance. We have to realize that nobody can affect us in only ways we can affect ourselves.

Demand or need for this profession: The job outlook is increasing by 16% which is much faster than usual.
Reflection: I wouldn’t like to do this because it seems to me to be too basic. If I were to become a nurse I’d be a registered nurse but that too doesn’t interest me.

“ Intelligence is not enough. Intelligence plus character, that is the goal of true education.“
By: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Image result for martin luther king jr.Martin Luther King was a wise guy and is trying to teach us that just being smart is not going to cut it. You need to, not only be smart but be a good person. I interpret it as so. He said true education and that to me lets me know that by being smart doesn’t mean you could be truly successful. There is no point in being not that's good of a person but being smart. An example could be when looking for a job in retailing. You could be the wisest person in the business but because you are not amicable it will make others think you are untrustworthy. That will lead to failure because you don’t have what it takes to truly succeed. Of course, that can change if you know how to treat others and make a great character for yourself. Same goes the other way around. Just because you are a good person doesn’t guarantee a job. You may get the job because people like others that can communicate well but if you don’t know how to sell you are most likely going to lose your job. You need to be both sides of the spectrum to know what it is like to truly have the goal of an education.

They do this by prescribing special and specific types of exercises that will be accommodate your needs.

Demand or need for this profession: There will be an 8% increase in the demands between 2014-2024.
Reflection: It sounds pretty much like a sport therapist and that was not interesting for me. That is because I actually like being active not telling other people to be active.

“We need the courage to START and CONTINUE what we should do, and the courage to STOP what we shouldn’t do.”
By: Richard L. Evans

As humans we tend to be really busy all the time. At least people like employed adults and students. We usually use our busy schedules as an excuse for not working out, eating right, or just spending time doing recreational activities. Richard L. Evans tell us that all we need is courage. If we have courage then there is really nothing that we can’t do. If we have our minds set to something we are going to do it. It we feel discouraged we will fall into our old or even worse ways. That too needs courage to prevent. Not only do we need the courage to keep doing good for ourselves but to keep from doing bad. I believe this because it takes a strong person to keep themselves on the right track because it’s not easy. It sure is easy to give up but that is why we need the courage to stop. An example is eating healthy. It is hard to eat healthy because things like pizza and cake are so tempting. We need the courage to start eating healthy. Not only is courage needed to start but to continue. What is the whole point of starting if you are not going to continue. Lastly, courage is needed most to stop from eating junk food because we shouldn’t do so. Even though I fully agree with Richard I can not be committed. I have tried to keep from things that aren’t good for me like showering in the mornings, eating late, or procrastinating.

Winter Break

It is seldom that I get sick so it was surprising that I did get sick. I spent my first week in bed wishing I wasn’t sick. It wasn’t all bad for we watched several movies after that week. We went to the movie theaters and watched Sing. Over the duration of the week I watched lights out, Star Wars Rogue One, and Trolls. On Christmas Eve we spent the majority of the time cleaning because my cousins were coming over, and because my mom wanted a clean house. The rest of Christmas Eve we spent all day relaxing at my house. I never really go anywhere for Christmas because my family usually comes over. On Christmas morning we waited until my brother got home to open the presents. In the meantime we entertained ourselves playing scrabble and monopoly. If you are in search of games that will help you pass time then I highly recommend either of those. When the time to open the presents came we were unwrapping, singing and just enjoying what it is to spend a day with the family. After the unwrapping we had to clean and we ate throughout the day. After that I decided that it was time to get workin on my homework. It took until the last day of break to finish but I am quite satisfied with how it came out. When New Years came around my cousin and I were spamming all our social media accounts. I regret posting some of the pictures and videos but life goes on. After we decided to race outside to try to seep up the digestive process. It did nothing but scrape my cousin’s knee. After New Years there was only the day of the three kings. We had a gift exchange and I ended up burning my finger. One the very last day we celebrated my friend’s fifteen and that is how my break ended.
