Ten Native American Commandments
1.Treat the Earth and all that dwells therein with respect
2.Remain close to the Great Spirit
3.Show great respect to your fellow beings
4. work together for the benefit of mankind
5.Give assistance and kindness wherever needed
6.Do what you know to do right
7.Look after the well-being of mind and body
8.Dedicate a share of your efforts to the greater good.
9.Be truthful and honest at all times
10.Take full responsibilities of your actions
From all ten of the Native Americans commandments I could conclude that they expect you to live your life by doing what is right. That is the 6th commandment after all. They also expect you to donate to your community. The Native Americans are expected to serve God which they call the Great Spirit. I thought this was quite interesting as they do believe in a greater being but they just call him by another name. I think that being Native American is a really nonchalant way of living. They focus on being kind to one another and being respectful. This is not something that can be said about everyone race let alone race. We can all see that they are truly grateful for what they have and that include integrity. I can firmly say that they have integrity because they are honest and take full responsibility for their actions. Apart from these ten commandments I could also say that they are all used to being in touch with earth and that is pretty good. To finish off, I can say that their way of living is so natural. They live in such peaceful terms.

“ A promise must never be broken.”
By: Alexander Hamilton
A promise should never be broken is something I truly believe in. I also believe that sometimes people make promises that they can not keep for one reason or the other. That is what I think is wrong. This, to me, is the main problem with promises. People can not tell the future so they don’t know if something is going to happen that will prevent them from actually completing their promise. That is why I try not to make promises I don’t know If I can keep. For example,  the VP of key club and that requires a plethora of my free time. I have to tell my board Whether or not i will be attending a meeting or event. This is a promise that I made when I accepted the nomination for my position. I agreed to the terms and made a promise. I promised to be committed and to inform my board if I can not attend an event, ahead of time. This is a promise that I have kept so far and am planning to for the rest of my term. I have had talks that let me know that people are counting on me and that is part of my side of the promise. I have to do my job and do it good because I have people who are depending on my job to do theirs. That is why I believe that I need to keep my promise just like everyone else. Hamilton is right to say that a promise should never be broken, because when you break it you look bad and no one will count on you for anything anymore.

“ Goodness is the investment that never fails.”
Henry David Thoreau

Being a good person is actually really important and it is good for you and the person you help. Most of the time it doesn’t fail but sometimes it does. As much I want to believe that this statement is true I can not. I have actually lived the opposite of this in my life. My life hasn’t proved this statement wrong once but several times. There was this time when I was with my older sister and her baby. We were walking on a plaza on the first day of summer and it was really hot. So I decided to help out my sister with her baby because she looked a bit tired. I carried my sister's baby and all of a sudden I drop her onto the hot pavement. I decided to be the nice person and offer to help my sister with her baby and I FAILED her. I didn’t mean to but I did. Another time was when I let a girl who I thought came to this school use my phone to call her sister. She ended up running with my phone. I chased after her and with the help of a guy, got my phone back. That comes to show that because I was being a nice person and letting someone use my phone I almost got it stolen. That is another reason of how being a nice person has failed on me. That is just a personal believe. I do believe in being a good person but there are also bad people out there who will take advantage of how good you are. You just have to be careful because it can fail on you. I also do a lot of community work so I do know how good it feels to do good. I will continue to do good because it will take me places in life but I will also be very cautious when it comes to these good deeds.

“My basic principle is that you don’t make decisions because they are easy; you don’t make them because they are cheap; you don’t make them because they are popular; you make them because they’re right.”
By: Theodore Hesburgh

What I can understand from this is that I can easily see that people who choose to do right don’t always do it because it will benefit them. He says that not every good deed is easy to make and that it isn’t always the cheapest. Sometimes it is not convenient to be good but you still feel like you need to do good. This means that when people do good it’s not always for a selfish reason. Sometimes good deeds need to be done with a good heart. An example can be cleaning a park. You can clean a park but it’s going to be painful for your back and it’s time consuming. It is then when you look and realize that it is not always easy to be good. People who do this often do it  out of the goodness of their hearts. Then there are those people who can not do good deeds for the life of the. They might think it's too much work to be nice. I believe that when a person is truly  nice it’s because they want to do good regardless of the cost. The outcome is good enough.

“It is our duty to concentrate all our influence to make popular that which is sound and is good, and unpopular which is unsound.”
By: Joseph Smith

This quote is just telling us that we should always do good. We are going to do good by making everyone else be good, or at least want to do good. We will do this by making it popular. We have to make sure that people know what benefits come with being good. We have to make sure that this is a better place and to do so we need to make sure that the people are good. They need to stop doing bad things that may seem popular like swearing, smoking, drinking doing drugs, and anything along the lines of that. Although all your friends are doing it because it's popular we need to work extremely hard and make sure that you don’t fall for it. That’s why Smith goes on to say that we need to work to make these things that are unsound unpopular. The only way we are going to do this is by not doing them. We have make sure that the people know that it isn’t good to be doing those things. I also believe that we need to make education popular. In my opinion everybody thinks that school is boring and I don’t agree with that. I feel like we need to make something like physical fitness and school be popular. Another example is eating right. We need to make healthy food more appealing to people. I firmly believe in this quote because I know that it’s true and I often think like this. Whenever I get the chance to suggest a good idea I will remember this statement and say something that is good.
Spring Break Days Off

Last week we had a whole week off of school. My break started off really busy. The same Friday we got out of school I had convention for key club. I was there until 10:00pm and didn't get home until 11. If that wasn’t crazy enough I had to get my clothes ready for Saturday. Saturday I had to leave at 8:00am. When we got to DCON we had to go to these sessions that took close to 30 minutes and we had to take notes. The day didn’t end until 10:00pm. Sunday I didn't do much except go to the fair where I was goofing around with goats, sheep, and a pony. It was so much fun. Monday, I just cleaned and relaxed. Tuesday, I had brunch with my key club family. Wednesday, I had the key club board come over to my house for a meeting. Thursday, I had planned to go to the beach but I had to take care of my mom and niece. Thursday and Friday were spent binge watching a show which was okay but not really worth the lack of sleep. Saturday and Sunday were dedicated Easter days. After we go home from the Easter celebration, I had to do all my homework which I did in two hours. Overall, my break was really productive.

“ I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he is wrong.”
By: Abraham Lincoln
I see the truth behind this student success statement and see that it is applicable in my life. I can see that he is saying that you should never take a part of anything bad or sides with anyone like that. Then he goes on to talk about taking the side of the person who is right. He tells us this because he wants us to know that there will be a time where we have to chose between the good and the bad. An example I can think for this is school. In school you decide who you want to be friends with. You decide if you want to be friends with the bullies or with good people. It is up to you. You are going to chose who you are going to surround yourself and that will allow you to shape who you are as a person. That decision will determine whether you win or lose. You will lose because you chose the wrong and hang out with those bullies. IF you chose the right and hang out with people who do the right you will win. You will win because you have developed a good character and that is all that matters. If you're a good person then good things will come to you . That is what I think Lincoln is trying to say when he said that he is not bound to win. He says how it is not known if he is going to win or not. He knows that if he surrounds himself with bad people he will not be destined to win, but if he surrounds himself with people who are right then he will be right and win. I see will continue to keep this statement in mind.

They will usually examine the eyes and diagnose any diseases, injuries or any other visual problems. Not only will the optometrist will also treat whatever it is that you have. When they are not in the surgery room or with a patient they are most likely going to be having consultations and be informing their patients about new technology.
Salary: An optometrist makes an average o f $103, 900 a year.
Education: To become an optometrist you need at least a 4 year bachelors. After that you will apply for a program where you can get your Doctor of Optometry degree. You are also required to have a residency that may take up at least 4 years depending on the state.

“ Character is higher than intellect.”
By: Ralph Waldo Emerson

Ralph Waldo believe in being a good person for he does say that it is more important than intelligence. I like  to agree with Emerson because being a good person will take you farther than your intelligence. Why does it matter if you are smart or not when you have such a strong character. I believe that to be a good character you need to be caring, understanding, a good listener, and most importantly have integrity. You will need integrity in your life more because life requires you to associate with other people. Others will not want to associate with you if you have a bad character. That therefore, doesn’t allow you to succeed in life. If you are a bad person you will most likely see this happen to yo. Now, if you are a good person people will rely on you and you will have good associate relationships. That allows you to be more successful. To do that you don’t need to be smart you just need to know how to work together. An example is at school. I am a very loquacious person and I know that I’m gifted in almost everything because I know catch onto things pretty quickly. I also know how to get along with others, naturally. That makes me a good character and that allows me to be more successful than someone who is not really outgoing. I actually like this statement because I see it true in my daily life.
