Last Lecture
“ You will go far with CTR.”
MR. HAYMORE
In life you have to choice of being someone who is going places and achieving their dreams. You could be that someone or be the one that doesn’t do anything to become a better person. Mr. Haymore says that we will go far if we make the commitment to become a CTR person. I honestly believe him when he says this because I am a living example of it. I am a really busy persona and so it is crucial for me to know how to manage my time. I learned to manage my time using my student life planning journal. I would write down everything I needed to get done first and set it as my goal to get it done. Then I would look back at the journal  and see what needs to get done first. I chose the right to use my journal to literally plan my life choices and this led my to have a successful year. I honestly do not regret going home and opening my journal almost everyday and looking to see what needed to get done. I will continue to use journals to guide me through life because kit really did help me this year and  hope that it will to throughout my life. That is just one example of what I needed to do to get by this year and I did it while choosing the right. I agree with Mr. Haymore that I went far choosing the right.
Class Evaluation
Throughout this semester I enjoyed learning more student success statements. I enjoyed this because they gave me a new perspective of what it was like to be a person who always does the right thing. The activity that follows out statements were the videos which I think were second most enjoyable thing in this class. I also enjoyed writing I my student life planning journal. In my journal I would write down my goal for the week and that's how I kept track of my year. I would also draw a lot which allowed the class to be enjoyable. I also liked that I was allowed to talk with my friends and family when we had to walk around and mingle with other students. Lastly, and my all time favorite, would be the end of the block when we were on our way to seventh block. The song is pretty catchy and has a pretty good message.
Although it may seem like this class may seem to be nothing but enjoyable it was not all the time. There were times when get a little bored because we had to create powerpoints for this semester long project and we had too much time to do it. It took too long to get everyone to  present their project. I also didn’t like that we were in the same seats. I would have enjoyed it if we were allowed to sit where we wanted. Another thing that I disliked about this class was the career journals. They were informative but I didn’t like researching and then I needed more time to write a reflection I was proud of. That should pretty much sum up what I didn’t like about this class.
To improve this class I recommend for the students to be able to socialize more. They could do this activity where they pair up with a random person in the class and then they have to write about them. It not only allows them to practice their typing skills but also allows them to get to know more people. Another suggestion would to allow them more freetime. I feel like a lot of the students like computers but for other things than just to type or make a website. You might want to allow them t learn how to photoshop or make a game. Something where we are actually using our knowledge of computers to do something good. Other than that I feel like the lass would be great doing what we are doing.
Like mentioned in the previous paragraph, I really enjoyed the student success  statements. I loved when I would be notified that someone commented on my articles. I also enjoyed being taught a good thing that i can actually use in life. I can actually teach someone these statements to make them a better person. Although I almost never had enough time to do a good job on them I could consider then the highlight of my year. The ones that I liked the most remain in my conscience today. I could not ask for a better task to do in this class as they were not only fun but good for me.
I did do my best in this class. I sometimes forgot my journal so that brought m grade down. The only thing that I never really go the hang of was memorizing the keyboard.Other than that I did try.
I do not read my life planning  journal all the time but I do often. I like writing in my journal though. I also write a lot so I feel like it makes up for when I don’t. When I didn’t do it’s because I’m too busy with other goals I have to complete.

I have committed myself to chose the right. I have to be honest and say that I don’t always choose the right but I am still getting accustomed to doing things the right way. I made it a habit to be the best person I can be and so far I think that I have done a magnificent job. I plan to continue this all throughout my life.

“THE ULTIMATE CHOICE is to be a CTR Person - to Always CHOOSE THE RIGHT 24/7!!!
BY: Mr. Haymore

All thought this year we, my classmates and I, have been told of the benefits of being a CTR person. We have been told that there is greatness if we only make the decision. We have to be able to tell when something is right or not. We have to be able to actually do what is right and keep away front hat that is wrong. It is not the easiest thing to do but there are ways that really help. For example, evaluating your actions at the end of the day, or surrounding yourself with the right people. If at the end of the day you reflect on everything you did wrong throughout your day you will notice that they were not really necessary, so next time you are placed in a similar situation you will react differently and possibly in a better way. The other thing is surrounding yourself with the right people. This is crucial because they will not only influence you but also what you do. If you hang around really disruptive people you yourself will be disruptive. Now, if you hang around people who encourage you to do your homework and study then you will be choosing  the right naturally.  That is why it is so important that you make the choice and become a CTR person.  Personally, I think this will make your life easier because you have less to worry about. A personal example is when I had to turn in a paper for my AP World History class.  I was supposed to be doing a work sheet but instead I choose to play around with my friends. This was me choosing the bad because I almost put aside my priority and that could have dropped my grade. That is why I think that it really does matter if you are a CTR person, If I had fully committed to do what was right I  would have not gone through this. I have now made the commitment because I have seen over the course of this year that it really has affected my life.  I not only plan to use this statement and ideology to thrive in life but in anything I want to do. I will continue to commit to this as I know that it is the best for me.
Sir Robert Bryson Hall II

Sir Robert Bryson Hall II is a 27 year old rapper from Gaithersburg, Maryland. He was born in January 22nd in the year of 1990. He was born in a hospital in Shady Rockville Maryland at 7:36 in the morning. Today, he is 27 years old and is married to Jessica Andrea, who is also putting out pop music, and had two male dogs. He just put out his fourth album May 5th. This project came in the form of a consecutive concept album. This album takes place in the future not so far. The previous album introduced what could be the end of the human race down in Earth. He was able to capture the solution that we took a fourth to solve this crisis. We all set out into space in a space station called Babble to search for a planet called Paradise. This album was titled The Incredible True Story. The continuation album is titled Everybody. This concept album takes place in Paradise. He goes over the whole controversy of racism. He opens up about how life was for him growing up as a biracial boy surrounded by siblings and neighbors, as well as his parents, who were crack, alcohol and other drugs. He was raced upon section 8 housing and food stamps until he went to live with his friend. He was actually kicked out of high school as an underclassman. One of his first jobs was at a wingstop where be would rap the orders. Not only has he realized that life was rough for him but being that he is in the spotlight now he notices that there are more people out there with lives just as bad as his. That is the reason why he decided to open up about his own life. He aspired to enlighten people and open their eyes to let them know that at they are not alone and that things really do get better as he is a prime example of it.
I chose to write about him for this reason. He is such an inspiration and although I am set off good in life, he has allowed me to put myself in his place and realize that just because I don’t live in such conditions doesn’t mean that they don’t exist. I also love how he has been able to influence the way I interact with people. I have become an open  minded person and feel like I can relate to someone that has lived a life like his. I will continue to look up to him as he has also affected the way I think and analyse art. With that said, I totally recommend him.

Character
If there is beauty in character,
there will be harmony in the home.
If there is harmony in the home,
there will be order in the nation.
If there is order in the nation,
There will be peace in the world.
Conclusion:
If there is beauty in character,
there will be peace in the world.
Chinese proverb

This Chinese proverb is trying to tell us that there will be no peace in the world if there is no peace within the person. A person has to have a good character in order to inspire others to do good as well as feel good. If there is no one to look up to as a character then there will be no reason as to why the whole world should be at peace. We have to compromise but in order to do that we need to be a good person and that is defined through character. An amazing example I could think of would be in a group work. In a group there we are required to work together and in order for us to work together we need to have peace. So that there is peace we need to make sure that we all get along and we have to be at our best behavior. We need to make sure that we are able to lead together and by example of each other. I honestly, really like this statement. It is pretty straight forward and it’s something that I have always thought true.

“A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder.”
By: Thomas Carlyle

In this statement he compares us to these ships where our goals are what keeps us going. If you think about it for a second you will see that it is true. As a child we had dreams and aspirations in life that motivate us to become whatever we want. I see this statement as much more. I think that he is comparing something so little compared to the size of the ship that almost nobody thinks it is important when wanting to get on a cruise. The same happens when a person is wanting to be successful. We often don’t think that goals are important we look at the bigger picture. The thing is that in order to be successful you need goals just like the ship needs that rudder, It may seem unimportant but It is the only thing that will drive you to where you want to go. That is just my example of why I think our goals and dreams are rudders in the eyes of Thomas C. I plan to continue to keep this statement in mind even though I am not a ship enthusiast.
Memorial Day Weekend
This weekend we were allowed an extra day off of school. I was unbelievably busy this weekend as I was helping out my community at the fair. My job was to supervise as well as assist in the cleaning of the fair. My first shift was fon the Friday we were dismissed from 5pm -10pm. It was pretty fun. There really wasn’t any trash. The Saturday I had to get up early and go to church. After church I had to race back to my house and change into close that was suitable to clan in all day. I didn’t even have the chance to take off my make up. I actually ended up taking my little sister and while we were on break we went inside the petting zoo. It was pretty boring because I was scared of touching the animals. After we were done going over the fair twice we were able to get on some rides. After the fair my sister and I had to change to go to a party. At the party I was sleeping, which I really regret because it bothered my mom. Sunday morning I had to go to the fair early but we had some setbacks which took quite a while to recover from. I was in charge by myself until one of my members took charge along side me. We ended up taking both shifts so we worked from 12am all the way to 10pm. We helped this lady sell her organic lotions. The highlight of that day was going under the stage where people we ingin live to retrieve a table. It was pretty cool. On Monday I took a break from the fair to catch up on homework. It was a pretty productive weekend.

“When a deep injury is done to us we never recover until we forgive.”
By: Alan Paton

I like to believe that there is nothing worse than envy and resentment. In this statement Alan Paton clearly explained the route out of resentment. He stated that forgiveness is the only way to recover. I completely agree with this because if you don’t forgive then you are always going to hold on to that. If you want to hold on to something bad that some other person did to you it is completely fine. The only thing to remember is that is only going to set you back. I like to think of God when forgiving. The Lord is merciful and he will not leave us there he will forgive us so that we grow and learn from our mistakes. He wants us to be the best people we can be and for that we need to learn how to forgive. If we are able to forgive we can not only brighten our day but somebody else's’ day as well. A more specific example would be when someone goes behind your back and says something mean about you. You will not talk to that person because they lost your trust but also because you feel bad that they would do something like that. The other friend feels bad for doing that but you decide not to forgive them . That will only hurt you in the long run because it will be in you that you didn’t give them a second chance but Jesus died to give us a second chance. That is when we have to realize that we shouldn’t hold grudges or the feeling of hatred. We are all born to love and forgive each other. That is just the way I look at it. With that said I will continue to live with my mentality and Paton’s view on life.

“Dare to do right.”
By: Rex D. PINEGAR
Doing or choosing the right is never the easiest thing to do. When we are growing up we want to show that we are tough, that we are more than others and we do things that we might not realize how dangerous they really are. Rex D. Pinegar wants to show us that we can really affect others by choosing the wrong as he did when he was a seven year old boy. As a boy he wanted to prove that he was the fastest boy in school so he was dared to run across a street before a car passed. He chose the wrong by accepted the dare and running across the street. He got hit by the car and was knocked unconscious. His example just comes to show how powerful dares are. He, like Thomas Monson, daring us to what is right. It is a bit different in the sense of the wording that they chose but what I think that Pinegar is telling us is that instead of accepting the dares that may lead to failure or may hurt someone follow the dares that will make you better. An example of a good dare is wearing your uniform, going to work/school everyday,  Those dares will make us better people as they are encouraging us to do the right thing. When it comes to doing the wrong thing we want to avoid that now that we are all going to dare to be good. An example of choosing the bad is jumping off anything, hurting someone, or even bother someone can be disastrous. I had already promised to dare to live a CTR lifestyle. I have somewhat completed this as I do not always

“ Dare to stand alone.”
By: Thomas S. Monson
Thomas S. Monson doesn’t mean to be completely alone. He means that you need to be alone when the people around you are doing the bad. You need to dare being alone while doing the right then to be with other who are doing nothing but choosing the wrong. I have seen several statements related to this one prior to this but Thomas S. Monson’s wording stood out more than the others. When I saw that he dares us to be alone I thought it was so different. The way IO think others will interpret this is that he is telling you to do something even though you don’t want to do it, because that is the literal meaning of a dare.I also thought it was funny because he is telling you to do something maybe you don’t want to by daring you while telling you not to do what others are doing because that is what you might want to do. An example if this quote, or statement, is at a wild party. If you are at a party where everyone else is drinking and smoking that is where the dare part of this quote comes to play. You are dared to not drink and choose what is right rather than to be part of a crowd and choosing the wrong. I actually like this statement because of how different it is but is still able to convey the same message. I, personally, think that this quote is going to impact me in the long run.

“ If I’ve got correct goals, and if I keep pursuing them the best way I know how, everything else will fall into line. If I do the right thing then I’m going to succeed.”
BY: Dan Dierdorf

What the former offensive lineman is trying to say that If you dream plausible then there is no chance that you will ever fail. If you dream something then you have to work your hardest to achieve it. You have to keep it on your mind until you accomplish it. An example I could think of is picking a university. You could choose a University because you like it, then you have to dream it and make it a goal. You have to work your hardest to make sure you get accepted into that university. Your main goal is to go attend the university then you will try your hardest to get there. You are going to be too focused on making it there that you have no time to goof off and do wrong. That is why I think he made the second sentence. He said that if you do the right thing you're going to succeed and if you follow your dreams they are going to lead you to more success. I will dream to complete this year with great achievements and this here statement is going to my motivator.

Phillip Rigg’s Four Success Tips
  1. Work Hard
  2. Follow your passions. Do things you are interested in doing.
  3. Don’t chase after money.
  4. Serve others. Do good things to others, and good things will come to you.
The grammy award winning music director, Philip Rigg, gave us four tips of advice that are going to lead us to success. The first he said to work hard and that is something everyone should do to achieve their goals. I believe, that there is no way for you to achieve your goals if you do not work hard towards them. I think that the second tip is the hardest because I don’t know what to do. I am very passionate for several things but I can’t figure out what exactly I’m good at. The third tip is also something that I have been taught to live by. I was always told that money Isn’t the answer but it does open a lot of doors. So, money is not everything to me because I know that what makes me happy doesn’t always get me paid. The last one might be the one most relevant to me, only because I love doing charity work. I do give back to people and my community but bad things always seem to happen to me but I have learned to accept them as good things. An example of these four tips would be key club. Being a part of key club’s board I have to be on top of a lot of things to ensure the success of it. I also have to like doing it because If I’m not enjoying it it makes it harder for the others to do so too. Doing service events I have to do things without getting paid and I love doing charity work. It gives you the satisfaction to really love what you do. I will continue to use these tips.

“The most important thing you will ever have is good values.”
By: Dennis Prager

The most important things that you will ever have are good morals along with values. These good values will open many doors for you. You may be asking yourself how to acquire such good values, well the answer is quite simple. You just have to know what is right. You have to choose what is right everyday and little by little you will realize that you have become a person who follows the values of life. You will be honest, lively, and overall a good character. Like stated in the past people are more attracted to people with good moral values. You will most likely get more job offers and things of that sort. I will look more into him and live by this.

“ In any moment of decision, the best thing you could do is the right thing.”
By: Theodore Roosevelt
When it comes to choosing the right many will say they will or that they already do. I belief that that is not always the answer to everyone’s questions. That is surely the answer to most of my decisions but not all. Sometimes I do really reckless things without thinking and that shouldn’t be my primary response. When I have to think of something I’m very lenient and accept the consequences but do regret it. For example, one time I had to make the decision to simply tell my sister that it’s wrong to leave her plate in our room, because that was the right thing to do. Instead if doing so, I decided to throw the plate to her bed and it just so happened that it hit her in the knee. I felt so bad because I didn’t want to throw it at her just her bed. That is a perfect example of what this statement is telling us not to do. I should have told her to take her plate to the kitchen rather than throwing it at her. Although it was the wrong thing to do, I accepted the consequences, which were having to tell her sorry, but that made my conscience suffer a little bit. Now whenever I see her on her bed or eating in our room my conscience reminds me of my wrong actions. I sure wish I would have thought of this statement back then but now I know. With the knowledge of this statement I will now think twice of what is right to do and do it.

“ Nothing is ever gained in doing what’s wrong.”
By: Wilford Woodruff
Like Mr. Woodruff said, nothing good is EVER gained from doing wrong. The only thing that is earned is a bad reputation. I believe that because people will associate your name from that wrongdoing. You have to know what it means to be good and that means to have a good reputation. You have to be clear from all those negative things that can be out in your record. The reason for that is because if you do something bad it's going to prevent you from getting a job going to conventions. An example I could think of for this statement is just that. If you ever want to go to a convention, as an adviser, you have to get a background check. If you were a reckless teen and drove drunk and accidentally hit someone that doesn’t only go in your record but you also get a DUI and maybe face time if it was that bad. That is why you have to steer clear from such actions that can mess with your future. A bad action like that can keep you from reaching your goals and leaves with nothing good. I will incorporate this into my daily life because I see it as something necessary in life. You don’t want anything bad happening to you therefore you will only do good.

“It’s A GREAT MOMENT when someone has character to step up and do the right thing at the right time.”
by : Pam Knox

Whenever you are faced with a situation where you have to choose between the right or wrong there should be no question as to what is right. You should choose the right all the time. That is why you have to always keep an eye for what isn’t right. You could make sure that when you see something wrong you need to, as a CTR person, make it right. An example I could think of is related to bullying. If you see that someone is getting bullied don’t just stand there and do nothing you have to make sure that the victim is okay. You have to go up and talk it out or even stand up to them. I know that the chances of someone actually getting to experience this is not great but that's why you have to do it when the time comes. If you are placed in that position, don’t waste time and take action to do what is right. I’ll make sure to do this because I know it’s right.

“I have been asked what I mean by ‘word of honor.’ I will tell you: Place me behind prison walls-walls of stone ever so high, ever so thick, reaching ever so far into the ground- there is a possibility that one way or another I might be able to escape; but stand me on the floor and draw a line around me and have me give my word of honor never to cross it. Can I get out of that circle? No, never! I’d die first.”
By: Karl G. MAESER
This is a very long and wordy statement by the professor. To concise what he is trying to say, is that you should keep your word no matter how silly or insignificant it may seem to other people. If you tell someone that you are going to do something then you need to make sure to keep your word no matter how small it may seem. Like his example was comparing a prison and a chalk circle. The difference is the level in which society sees these two. Jail is seen as this system that is highly secure and respected by others. A circle made from chalk is nothing most people will just step on it like a crack in the sidewalk, and that is why he uses that. To show that no matter how insignificant you use your word for it is still important. It is a good way of letting people know that you are a good person and will keep your word regardless of the circumstances. That is what I have interpreted from this statement. I would like to use a parent and a friend. If you tell your mom that you are going to the movies and she lets you go you have to go to the movies. If your friend decides to go to the park then you have to say no because you asked to go to the movies not the park. It may seem little but you gave your word so you have to follow through.

Ten Native American Commandments
1.Treat the Earth and all that dwells therein with respect
2.Remain close to the Great Spirit
3.Show great respect to your fellow beings
4. work together for the benefit of mankind
5.Give assistance and kindness wherever needed
6.Do what you know to do right
7.Look after the well-being of mind and body
8.Dedicate a share of your efforts to the greater good.
9.Be truthful and honest at all times
10.Take full responsibilities of your actions
From all ten of the Native Americans commandments I could conclude that they expect you to live your life by doing what is right. That is the 6th commandment after all. They also expect you to donate to your community. The Native Americans are expected to serve God which they call the Great Spirit. I thought this was quite interesting as they do believe in a greater being but they just call him by another name. I think that being Native American is a really nonchalant way of living. They focus on being kind to one another and being respectful. This is not something that can be said about everyone race let alone race. We can all see that they are truly grateful for what they have and that include integrity. I can firmly say that they have integrity because they are honest and take full responsibility for their actions. Apart from these ten commandments I could also say that they are all used to being in touch with earth and that is pretty good. To finish off, I can say that their way of living is so natural. They live in such peaceful terms.

“ A promise must never be broken.”
By: Alexander Hamilton
A promise should never be broken is something I truly believe in. I also believe that sometimes people make promises that they can not keep for one reason or the other. That is what I think is wrong. This, to me, is the main problem with promises. People can not tell the future so they don’t know if something is going to happen that will prevent them from actually completing their promise. That is why I try not to make promises I don’t know If I can keep. For example,  the VP of key club and that requires a plethora of my free time. I have to tell my board Whether or not i will be attending a meeting or event. This is a promise that I made when I accepted the nomination for my position. I agreed to the terms and made a promise. I promised to be committed and to inform my board if I can not attend an event, ahead of time. This is a promise that I have kept so far and am planning to for the rest of my term. I have had talks that let me know that people are counting on me and that is part of my side of the promise. I have to do my job and do it good because I have people who are depending on my job to do theirs. That is why I believe that I need to keep my promise just like everyone else. Hamilton is right to say that a promise should never be broken, because when you break it you look bad and no one will count on you for anything anymore.

They also perform surgeries for arthritis. They will most likely be found in a hospital setting or in their independent officesses. They can even focus mainly on sports, pediatric work, joint replacement or any other part of the body that they prefer.
Salary: An orthopedic surgeon will make $512,000 a year.
Education: To become an orthopedic surgeon you will need to get a 4 year bachelor’s degree in biology, pre-medicine, or a related field. After that is completed you will need four more years in medical school and a five year residency.

“ Goodness is the investment that never fails.”
Henry David Thoreau

Being a good person is actually really important and it is good for you and the person you help. Most of the time it doesn’t fail but sometimes it does. As much I want to believe that this statement is true I can not. I have actually lived the opposite of this in my life. My life hasn’t proved this statement wrong once but several times. There was this time when I was with my older sister and her baby. We were walking on a plaza on the first day of summer and it was really hot. So I decided to help out my sister with her baby because she looked a bit tired. I carried my sister's baby and all of a sudden I drop her onto the hot pavement. I decided to be the nice person and offer to help my sister with her baby and I FAILED her. I didn’t mean to but I did. Another time was when I let a girl who I thought came to this school use my phone to call her sister. She ended up running with my phone. I chased after her and with the help of a guy, got my phone back. That comes to show that because I was being a nice person and letting someone use my phone I almost got it stolen. That is another reason of how being a nice person has failed on me. That is just a personal believe. I do believe in being a good person but there are also bad people out there who will take advantage of how good you are. You just have to be careful because it can fail on you. I also do a lot of community work so I do know how good it feels to do good. I will continue to do good because it will take me places in life but I will also be very cautious when it comes to these good deeds.
