“ Goodness is the investment that never fails.”
Henry David Thoreau

Being a good person is actually really important and it is good for you and the person you help. Most of the time it doesn’t fail but sometimes it does. As much I want to believe that this statement is true I can not. I have actually lived the opposite of this in my life. My life hasn’t proved this statement wrong once but several times. There was this time when I was with my older sister and her baby. We were walking on a plaza on the first day of summer and it was really hot. So I decided to help out my sister with her baby because she looked a bit tired. I carried my sister's baby and all of a sudden I drop her onto the hot pavement. I decided to be the nice person and offer to help my sister with her baby and I FAILED her. I didn’t mean to but I did. Another time was when I let a girl who I thought came to this school use my phone to call her sister. She ended up running with my phone. I chased after her and with the help of a guy, got my phone back. That comes to show that because I was being a nice person and letting someone use my phone I almost got it stolen. That is another reason of how being a nice person has failed on me. That is just a personal believe. I do believe in being a good person but there are also bad people out there who will take advantage of how good you are. You just have to be careful because it can fail on you. I also do a lot of community work so I do know how good it feels to do good. I will continue to do good because it will take me places in life but I will also be very cautious when it comes to these good deeds.
