Military Medical Career: Audiologist
Duties and responsibility: The audiologist for the military is responsible for helping the soldiers preserve their hearing. Audiologist work with the most advanced technology to do their job. To make sure that the soldiers hearing is spot on they do a series of tests. Audiologists will perform hearing tests and if they need any help with their hearing the audiologist will evaluate what hearing device is best. They will also develop better hearing strategies and communication programs.
Salary: The pay will increase the more years you do your job. For example if you are barely starting, the first two years you’ll make $38, 753 and if you have been there for about twenty years then you’ll earn $89,770.
Education: To become a military audiologist you need a doctorate from an accredited school. That would be a school acceptable with OTSG. They must also have a one year externship in audiology. They can also be part of the Army Auditory Externship Program.
Demand for this profession: This profession is estimated to grow by 24% overall.
Reflection: This is really interesting to me. That is because It seems easy and simple. Not only that but you get special benefits for working under the title of Military Audiologist. The overall idea just captures my attention.
