Duties and Responsibilities: A neurosurgeon is a specialist who specializes in the surgeries regarding the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves and their supporting and surrounding structures. A neurosurgeon will diagnose any brain or nerve diseases as well as injuries . They can also remove any brain tumors if necessary. Not every neurosurgeon will perform the same operations. Some neurosurgeons will decide to go into a more specific route like mainly spinal surgeries, or specifically in the brain.  Even though they will perform different practices they will all prescribe medication and if needed specialized treatment.
Salary: A neurosurgeon will make $395,000 a year.
Education: To become a neurosurgeon you will need 4 years of undergraduate school, 4 years of medical school, and 3-8 years of an internship or residency. Premedical students must complete take physics, biology, mathematics, english and inorganic as well as organic chemistry.
Demand for this profession: They have the greatest demand than regular physicians due to the revenue that hospitals obtain for them. It is expected to grow 24% from the years 2010-2020.

Reflection: I know so much about the brain and I am interested in the brain but I am still unsure if I want to take the route of neurosurgery. The reason is because it’s so dangerous and i get nervous when it comes to having people’s life in my hands.
