Presidents’ Day
Presidents’ Day is an American holiday that falls on the third Monday of February. It was originally called Washington’s birthday and is still is by the federal government. Today Presidents’ day is celebrated to honor the former presidents as well as the current ones. It was first celebrated because of George Washington's birthday but then it was turned into a Monday holiday. That means that we do not attend work or school, and that was created intentionally to create more three day weekends. By not attending school and work we honor the holiday. Another way is be with family and have a nice time off work and responsibilities relating to work. There are also sales that go on during Presidents’ day and that too is how american celebrate the third Monday in February. Apart from that I will inform myself about what's going on surrounding the president . It was actually president Nixon who is associated with the conversion of Washington’s birthday in to what we know call President’s day.
