“ Act well your part; there all honor lies.”
By: Alexander Pope
File:Alexander Pope portrait ...I am actually very familiar with Alexander Pope and think we have a similar perspective of the world. Within that perspective of the world lies honor. I believe that honor is being respectful and having the decency to admit when you are wrong. You have to have the integrity to know when something is wrong. This is pretty much what I understood from Pope’s statement. He says how you have to act well and by that I think he means that your actions have to be correct. That means you have to choose the right. You have to have honor. Honor means to have high respect. In order to respect yourself you need to be able to distinguish right from wrong. An example of this can be lieing. When you forget your homework and you have a low grade and those homework points are the ones that are going to get you to that higher grad. It is then that you decide to copy off someone. You have lost all honor for not acting the right way. This is a situation where I have been and because i am very fond of Pope I will make sure to live by this statement.
